Just a few hours before he was set to take the stage before an international audience, Dr. Irfan Günsel, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Near East University in North Cyprus, delivered an impacting message via the most prominent Turkish Media Channel, Haber TRT.
Seated at an elegant conference table before other distinguished representatives such as Ahmet Savasan, Board Member of Near East University and Kemal Göker, Representative of the TRNC in Berlin, he addressed viewers with the news of receiving the Business Initiative Directions Arch of Europe Award, one of the most prestigious honors in the world of international quality management, comparable in importance to the Malcolm Baldrige Award in the United States.
Günsel addressed the Award as not only a global recognition and merit forn his University but also a National challenge- to urge other academic institutions and companies in North Cyprus to abide by the same high standards of quality.
Near East University Hospital has spurred a national phenomenon in the last 3 years, through advancements in cardiology treatments as well as developing medical care in the realm of tourism.
Near East University in North Cyprus currently has enrolled 21,000 students, roughly 1,000 of which pertain to the prestigious medical program.
Later that evening, Dr. Irfan Günsel received the 2013 International Arch of Europe Award in Frankfurt, from the hands of the President of Business Initiative Directions, Jose E. Prieto, before business leaders and members of the diplomatic corps, in an international soiree attended by members of over 50 countries.
